Bon Secours Partnership

Are you tired of making the same decisions and expecting different results?

Are you ready to prove to yourself and everyone else that you’ve changed?

Are you convinced that with the right motivation and support you can change the path of your life?

If you answered “yes” to either of those questions, the Goodwill Job Readiness program at the Bon Secours Family Support Center is for you!  Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. has partnered with the Bon Secours of Maryland Foundation (BSMF) to help adults, in Southwest Baltimore, ages 18 and older, to overcome barriers to achieving self-sufficiency as part of their Working Families Initiative.  In addition to Job Readiness, Goodwill’s partnership with Bon Secours provides participants with a financial asset building, and job placement assistance component.

The Working Families Initiative and the Operation ReachOut-Southwest (OROSW) Community Coalition, represent a new framework for helping residents of Southwest Baltimore achieve economic self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life.  For more information on our Bon Secours readiness program, contact:  khunter@goodwillches.org.

Goodwill is currently working with Bon Secours of Maryland Foundation (BSMF) as part of their Working Families Initiative. The Working Families Initiative and the Operation ReachOut-Southwest (OROSW) Community Coalition, represent a new framework for helping residents of Southwest Baltimore achieve economic self-sufficiency and a decent quality of life.

Goodwill’s partnership with Bon Secours includes participation in Our Money Place Career Development Program a job placement, career and financial asset building program that helps adults overcome barriers to achieving self-sufficiency. The program is the result of a partnership that comprises 15 churches, 12 community-based and 10 nonprofit organizations, five businesses and Bon Secours Hospital, West Baltimore’s biggest employer. The other partner is the Bon Secours of Maryland Foundation, the hospital’s community development arm. The two groups joined in the mid-1990s to tackle a bleak set of problem.

Bon Secours Baltimore Health System is part of a national health corporation sponsored by Bon Secours Ministries.  Working together, we strive to fulfill the mission of the Sisters of Bon Secours - to help people and communities to health and wholeness by providing compassionate, quality healthcare and being "good help" to all in need in West Baltimore, with special concern for the poor and dying.. Our mission empowers us to embrace physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and communities as we help them achieve wholeness.

At the heart of the mission of Bon Secours Baltimore Health System are our eight core values: Respect, Justice, Integrity, Stewardship, Innovation, Compassion, Quality and Growth.
