COVID-19 update from Goodwill: Committed to our Community

By March 13, 20204 Comments2 min read

Dear Goodwill Supporters:

At Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc., we are committed to the community we serve. We have been proudly serving Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore since 1919. This community includes our program participants, donors, shoppers and our employees. Your health and safety is our top priority. I wanted to take a few minutes to share the steps we are taking to address coronavirus (COVID-19) at all of our locations including retail stores, operations, administrative offices and workforce development locations.

We are following all CDC disinfecting protocols for all Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake locations. Additionally, we have increased the frequency of cleaning at each of our locations. Our retail associates are regularly disinfecting all stores, especially high-touch areas, and our janitorial staff is doing the same at all other locations. We are providing anti-bacterial wipes for all employees, participants and customers at each location. All company vehicles are being sanitized three times a day. The Waverly Early Head Start Center of Goodwill will be closed beginning March 16th for two weeks.

We are monitoring the situation vigilantly, and taking guidance from local, state and national health authorities including the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We will continue to update you on any and all procedural changes.

100 years ago, we pledged to serve this community and today, that commitment holds stronger than ever. Thank you for your loyalty and support.

With appreciation,

Lisa Rusyniak
President & CEO
