Today, with a budget of nearly $60 million, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc., employs more than 600 individuals, operates 30 retail locations, 8 workforce development locations and provides a variety of commercial services for those with severe disabilities. Goodwill also opened The Excel Center in 2023, a tuition free, public high school for adults, 21 years of age and older. Additionally, Goodwill annually provides over 50,000 services to people in need of assistance because of physical, mental or other social barriers and places approximately 1,200 into jobs giving them “Not a charity, but a chance.”
