For more than ten years, the Lower Shore Career Development Center has served residents in Salisbury, MD. The Center provides job readiness skills training, certification-based training, job placement assistance and career counseling to the Lower Eastern Shore. Our team works with a variety of surrounding government and non-profit agencies as well as local employers to link individuals with resources and employment opportunities.
Our Skills Training Programs include:
- Job Readiness (3-day course, in-person) – In-person training that prepares participants to enter the workforce. Covered topics include: Customer Service, Effective Communication, Job Search and Retention, Interviewing Skills, and Professional Appearance.
- DOT Flagger (4-day course, in-person) – This course combines our Job Readiness Training with a certification facilitated by the American Traffic Safety Services Administration for individuals interested in being road, traffic and highway professionals covering flagger control references, signal procedures and practices.
- ServSafe Food Handling (4-day course, in-person) – This course combines our Job Readiness Training with a certification facilitated by the National Restaurant Association covering basic food safety, sanitation and hygiene practices, temperature control, cross contamination and food allergens.
