Job Readiness Program in Salisbury


Join us for a three-day, in-person Job Readiness course that will prepare you to enter the workforce. Topics include: Customer Service, Effective Communication, Job Search and Retention, Interviewing Skills, and Professional Appearance.

Held at the Lower Shore Career Center (700 S. Salisbury Blvd.), this is a three (3) day course held the fourth week of each month. Classes are Monday-Wednesday from 10am-1pm.

For more than ten years, the Lower Shore Career Development Center has served residents in Salisbury, MD. The Center provides job readiness skills training, certification-based training, job placement assistance and career counseling to the Lower Eastern Shore. Our team works with a variety of surrounding government and non-profit agencies as well as local employers to link individuals with resources and employment opportunities.

Other available training programs include:

  • DOT Flagger (6 hour self-paced curriculum) – Facilitated online by the American Traffic Safety Services Administration, this course provides certification for individuals interested in being road, traffic and highway professionals covering flagger control references, signal procedures and practices.
  • ServSafe (4 hour self-paced curriculum) – Online self-paced certified food handling training. The National Restaurant Association’s curriculum covers basic food safety, sanitation and hygiene practices, temperature control, cross contamination and food allergens.
