Kick Off the Giving Season with Purpose
Giving Tuesday, celebrated on December 2nd, is more than a day—it’s a global movement of generosity. At Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, we invite you to join our Goodwill Circle of Hope, a transparent cycle that transforms your donations into opportunities for individuals and communities.
What Is the Goodwill Circle of Hope?
Our process is simple yet powerful, and it’s designed to maximize impact while minimizing waste:
- Community Donations: It all starts with you. When you donate gently used items, you’re giving more than goods—you’re giving hope.
- Retail Sales: We sell the best donated items in our 29 retail stores. Find your local store today.
- Outlet Store: Any items that go unsold in our retail stores move on to get sold by the pound at our Kenwood outlet store, also knows as the “Goodwill Bins,” making affordable goods accessible to more people and giving these items another chance at life.
- Recycling: Items that remain unpurchased are recycled, reducing landfill waste as much as possible. Learn more about our sustainability efforts.
- Mission Funding: Revenue from these sales funds workforce development programs and our adult high school, the Baltimore Excel Center.
- Community Impact: Graduates secure jobs, strengthen families, and build thriving communities.
- The Circle Continues: Every donation keeps this cycle alive.
Your Donations Make Our Mission Possible
Every item you donate is more than just a gift—it’s a lifeline for someone striving to build a better future. At Goodwill of the Chesapeake, we deeply appreciate your generosity because it powers everything we do. From funding workforce development programs to supporting the Baltimore Excel Center, your contributions create opportunities that change lives. That’s why we want you to understand our process and the Circle of Hope—a transparent cycle that turns donations into jobs, education, and sustainability. When you give, you’re not just helping today—you’re shaping a stronger tomorrow.
