Goodwill will host a “Career Opportunity Day” on Wednesday, October 18, 2017

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake will host a “Career Opportunity Day” on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 9 am at the Huber Community Life Center.

The event will feature presentations from apprenticeship programs and business with jobs in the middle skills sector in Baltimore City, including: Building Trades Apprenticeships (Plumbers, Steamfitters and Laborers), Construction Workers (Asbestos Training, Pipeline & Utility Workers Training), CVS Pharmacy (for store managers) and BUILD (Turnaround Tuesday for Community Health Workers).  The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required as space is limited to 150 people per session.

The “Career Opportunities Day” is presented by Goodwill’s EMERGE Initiative. The Emerge Initiative links participants with appropriate skills training opportunities in order to increase technical skills, employability and meet the demand of varying job opportunities.  Highly skilled workers who seek these training opportunities will be able to perform in growth industries that provide self-sustaining jobs with goods wages.
