Come Celebrate Together Tuesday with Goodwill by Donating!
What if one small act, like clearing out a closet, or dropping off a bag of clothes could change someone’s life? This June 23rd, Together Tuesday makes that possible.
Together Tuesday is a national day of community action organized by GivingTuesday, celebrated this year on June 23rd, 2026. It falls between Juneteenth and the Fourth of July to provide a moment of shared reflection and civic purpose. This event invites people across the country to show up for one another through simple, meaningful acts of generosity. At Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, we’re answering that call. And we’re inviting you to join us.
What Is Together Tuesday?
Together Tuesday is built on the belief that generosity isn’t just for the holiday season. On June 23rd, individuals, nonprofits, and community organizations across the country will come together to take action — and Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is proud to be part of it.
This year, we encourage you to give your unwanted items a second life by donating to Goodwill this Together Tuesday. Whether it’s a bag of used clothing, a piece of furniture, or household goods you no longer need, your donations fuel job training and education in your local community.
How Your Donation Impacts the Community
At Goodwill, every donation follows a path designed to maximize impact:
You Donate: Drop off your gently used items at any of our 30 donation centers across the Chesapeake region.
We Sell: The items are placed on shelves at our retail stores, where shoppers find affordable goods and great deals.
Nothing Goes to Waste: Unsold items move to our Kenwood outlet store and we recycle leftover goods to the best of our ability, keeping millions of pounds out of landfills.
Revenue Funds Our Mission: Sales revenue goes directly toward workforce development programs, the Baltimore Excel Center (our adult high school), and Early Head Start programs.
Lives Change: Program participants gain skills, earn credentials, and build careers. Help us strengthen families and communities across the Chesapeake region.
Why Give on Together Tuesday?
When you #GiveWithGoodwill on June 23rd, you’re investing in:
Job Creation: Our programs equip individuals with the skills and support to secure meaningful employment.
Education: Our programs support adults earning high school diplomas and career certifications through the Baltimore Excel Center.
Sustainability: Our donations divert goods away from landfills and give them a second life.
Three Ways to Donate
Donate Items: Bring gently used clothing, furniture, electronics, and household goods to any Goodwill of the Chesapeake Donation Center. Items should be clean and in good condition.
Schedule a Home Pickup: Have a large haul or bulky items? Our partner, ReSupply, will come to you.
Donate a Vehicle: Your car, truck, or van can fund workforce programs and earn you a tax deduction.
