Goodwill Transitional Work Program Part 2

By July 15, 2016One Comment1 min read

Sometimes, people need extra assistance on their way to full-time employment. Goodwill’s Transitional Work Program was developed with this in mind, and as a way to assist individuals as they enter (and sometimes re-enter) the workforce.

Gregory came to Goodwill in 2011 with limited work experience. He originally enrolled in Goodwill’s Youth Merchandising program and upon completion, went through Goodwill’s Transitional Work program.

The Transitional Work Program is designed to give individuals hands-on experience to help them transition into the competitive work environment. This includes experience at Goodwill retail and administrative locations and also in other companies in the area.

Gregory was hired full-time by Goodwill in 2012 and his dedication and positive attitude have paid off. Since his hire, he has been promoted from processor to lead cashier to assistant manager. He takes pride in his achievements and is always willing to assist his colleagues. Additionally, Gregory has also able to obtain an Associate’s degree in Computer Networking and his driver’s license.
