Goodwill Supporters:
When we closed our locations two weeks ago, we were hopeful that we would be able to open this weekend. However, with Governor Hogan’s “Stay-at-Home order issued on Monday, all Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc. retail stores, administrative offices and workforce development sites will continue to remain closed until further notice. Our government contracts continue to operate as they are classified as “essential.”
We ask that you continue to hold your donations until we can re-open. Leaving your donations at a closed store will force us to dispose of them, impacting our ability to be the best stewards of your donations and decreases resources available to support the communities we serve.
We are eager to reopen as soon as it is safe for all of us. Thank you for your support.

When you say locations are closed until further notice, does that mean every location in Maryland?
Our territory covers Central MD and the Eastern Shore. Other Goodwill member agencies cover the rest of the state. All Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake locations are closed. Are your employees being paid during this forced closure?
All employees were paid for the weeks of March 22nd and March 29th. Beginning April 5th, some employees are being temporarily furloughed. They will be brought back to Goodwill when Operations resume. Thanks for your support.
My friend is employeed via Goodwill Staffing Solutions, but, have not received his last pay check, on 3/27. When will Goodwill mail his paycheck?
