New location will create jobs, expand workforce training, and support local economic growth

BALTIMOREMarch 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A new Goodwill store and donation center is coming to Jessup, bringing jobs, sustainability, and economic investment to the community. Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is transforming a 22,000-square-foot property into its largest Maryland retail location, creating 25 new jobs and expanding its mission of workforce training and career development. By purchasing the property instead of leasing, Goodwill is able to reinvest more resources directly into job training and community programs that help individuals build successful careers.

“We are excited to open our doors to shoppers and donors in Howard County,” said Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake CEO Lisa Rusyniak. “This is more than just a retail store—it’s a long-term investment in the community. Every donation and every purchase fuels our mission to provide job training and career opportunities to those who need it most.”

Located at 10350 Guilford Road near the busy Rt. 1 / Rt. 32 interchange, the new Goodwill store and donation center will offer easy access and free parking for shoppers and donors. Goodwill plans to open the location by summer 2025.

The new store will be the 31st retail location for Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake in Maryland and its fourth in Howard County. It will be the largest Goodwill store in the state, further strengthening the nonprofit’s ability to support individuals facing barriers to employment.

“The shopping experience at Goodwill is unique,” said Rusyniak. “It’s a place where you can find one-of-a-kind treasures while knowing that every dollar spent helps people gain the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the workforce.”

Donations and purchases of gently used clothing and household goods fund programs that empower individuals, strengthen families, and revitalize communities. By supporting Goodwill, shoppers and donors invest in people who are eager to work, grow, and contribute to society.
